Travelling Solo with Gullivers
If you are a passionate cricket or rugby supporter and you love travelling then don't be afraid of travelling solo!

We have many solo travellers on our supporters tours, and there's no better way to meet new, like-minded friends by travelling on our tours.

Room Sharing
If you are travelling alone and we can pair you up with another supporter to avoid you paying a single room supplement.

Solo Travellers

Emma in South Africa for Lions 2009, pictured with her tour manager - Simon JonesMost people I spoke to both before, and whilst on tour, kept telling me how brave I was as a single female to be travelling on my own. To me it was no big deal - I knew that I would be surrounded by fans of rugby so we all had one thing in common for sure and if I came away wanting to keep in touch with them - then that was an added bonus!

Everyone was so friendly and approachable on my tour, tour guide included of course - always looking out for me and ensuring that I was not left on my own somewhere. I came away with a whole new set of friends and I couldn't recommend Gullivers highly enough as a travel organisation. I am already looking for further opportunities to travel with them again (on my own).

Janet with Martin Johnson - Lions 2005, New Zealand A long time ago I decided that if I wanted to do something badly enough and had no one to do it with, I would do it on my own. But with Gullivers, solo travellers are not on their own unless they choose to be. From the start your tour leader (and in my experience the rest of the group) ensures you are included.

As I have lived alone for a number of years and am used to my own company, I decided to opt for a single room, although two single travellers in my group did share and it worked perfectly for them.

I wanted to see as much of New Zealand as possible as well as the 3 Tests and chose my tour accordingly. If you are thinking of doing an 'add-on', I would recommend you include it at the end of the tour rather than the beginning as the group 'bonding' is done within the first 24 hours.

I had the time of my life on the 2005 Lions Tour with Gullivers; the rugby was awful, the weather atrocious at times, but I would do it all again tomorrow!  Roll on 2013! Thank you Gullivers and my tour leader!
