A superb three weeks, worth every penny - 11 out of 10! We had 36 great travelling companions who gelled from the off – numerous lasting friendships made. We will be signing up for Australia and spreading the message amongst friends.
T & L Gawley, British & Irish Lions Tour South Africa 2009
The trip to South Africa was amazing. We were very impressed with Gullivers, everything was organised very well, and from our point of view it couldn't have been better. Thanks for making our tour memorable. See you in Australia.

Gullivers' Soweto Big PubThe highlight for many Gullivers tourists, supporters and staff alike, was our exclusive Big Pub before the 3rd Test. Here the true spirit of rugby was in evidence as everyone gathered at Soweto rugby club. They enjoyed a coaching clinic and Tag tournament for local children and cheered on the Gullivers Barbarians to their first ever win, 25-5, against Soweto Legends.

3rd Test - South Africa v Lions
Nick Squire travelled with Gullivers to South Africa for all three Lions Tests, on our Buffalo Red Tour. Whilst touring, he kept a diary and below is an extract from the day of the 3rd Test, which the British & Irish Lions won 28-9.
At last, I get to say those immortal words...'I was there!' Ellis Park still had that electric atmosphere even though the Test Series was effectively over. The Red Army rolled in to town yet again and the Lions owned the Boks in their backyard.
The day started for us on a high as we were bussed in to Soweto to enjoy their hospitality and watch Gullivers XV take on Soweto XV. The game was a breath of fresh air, the true art of course rugby. Having witnessed some breathtaking, nerve jangling games over the past few weeks it was great to get back to watching grassroots rugby at its best- uncontested scrums, a multitude of knock-ons from over eager hands and a line out that resembled 16 different ways to hail a taxi. A big shout must go out to the Soweto fullback, who at 62 years old was the senior citizen of the tie - I hope to be there too one day.
This tour has brought back the good old values of rugby and friendship, rubbing shoulders with your heroes and suits. We were graced at the Soweto match by the President of South Africa Rugby, Oregan Hoskins, who was keen to have a beer with Gullivers' Lions fans and admired some of the skills shown on the pitch – a top man who now is the proud owner of a Worthing RFC blazer badge....we expect to see it on the box next time you appear!
