Spirits Remain High in South Africa
29 Jun 2009 -
After the Lions' devastating loss in Pretoria, which went down to the final minute on Saturday, spirits amongst Gullivers' tours have lifted, as they prepare to enjoy seeing the sights of South Africa this week.
Like the British & Irish Lions squad, many of our tours are heading out to safari, to try and track down the 'Big Five' and are staying at some of the best safari lodges in the country. And some of our 2nd and 3rd Test tours, who weren't in South Africa for the Emerging Springboks match, have travelled south to Cape Town, where they will also enjoy time in the Winelands before the 3rd Test.
Gullivers' Leopard Yellow tour manager, Suzy Hillier said: "We're in Cape Town now, the sun is shining, it's 22°C and with a couple of days to reflect on the game, everyone is proud of how the Lions played. Over the next few days here, the supporters have lots planned, like trips to Robben Island and Table Mountain, as well as playing golf and relaxing on the waterfront. The hotels have been fantastic and everyone is so warm and friendly over here, so we're all having a great time and are enjoying the hospitality."
