RWC Christchurch Appeal Launched
We are halfway through the pool stages of Rugby World Cup 2011 and this weekend is set to be the most exciting yet. With New Zealand taking on their RWC nemesis, France and guaranteed quarter-final places up for grabs we can't wait until Saturday comes!
As the quarter-finals draw closer, our thoughts once again turn to the people of Christchurch. After February's devasting earthquake, the planned Christchurch quarter-finals and pool matches were relocated to other venues and in September, Rugby World Cup's Chairman, Bernard Lapasset launched a special appeal dedicated to raising funds to support the rugby community affected by the earthquake.
The RWC Christchurch Appeal will help restore Canterbury’s rugby infrastructure at all levels of the game, as a number of clubs, schools and communities struggle to repair and develop their rugby grounds and facilities after the damage caused by the earthquake.
If you would like to donate to the appeal, please visit www.rwcchristchurchappeal.com. All the funds raised will be passed on to the Canterbury Rugby Earthquake Charitable Trust, administered by the Canterbury Rugby Football Union.
We thank you for any support you can give and please enjoy the rest of Rugby World Cup 2011.
