Gullivers' Lisa Yorath Hits The Silverstone Tracks

As a child Lisa Yorath, who works in Gullivers worldwide sports tours and festivals department, grew up around racing cars and circuits and has always enjoyed fast cars and watching Formula 1 racing, especially live at Silverstone. So when Lisa won £500 worth of Virgin Experience vouchers by entering Holland 3 of the Best Days Out's prize draw, she knew exactly what to choose for her ultimate day out - a Single Seater Experience at Silverstone.
On Saturday 10 October, Lisa headed for the tracks on a perfect, sunny day, filled with nervous excitement. After a 30 minute classroom briefing on the tracks dos and don’ts she was taken to the Pit Lane to be kitted out and allocated a car. As the instructor strapped Lisa into the enormous Formula Ford 1600 Duratec racing car, she was reminded this vehicle can do 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds!
Lisa said: "The first two laps were the scariest moments of my life. After completing 36 laps, I ended up finishing 5th place out of 14, with a lap time of 46 seconds! I left the track grinning from ear to ear and with wonderful memories which will last an entire lifetime. Thank you Holland 3 of the Best Days Out."
