Martin Johnson lifts the Rugby World Cup Trophy in 2003, Australia

28 Jul 2009 - The International Rugby Board have announced that England will host Rugby World Cup 2015.

The announcement, made in Dublin on 28 July at 15.30 hours, also confirmed that Japan will host Rugby World Cup 2019.

Gullivers' Gareth Chilcott, who played for Bath, England and the Lions during his rugby career, was excited at the prospect of the tournament returning to where it all began in England as well as to a brand new rugby venue, Japan.

Gareth said: "It's a long way off yet but what a fantastic, new venue for the Rugby World Cup, I'm sure there will be plenty of experiences for rugby fans to enjoy off the pitch here - something completely different and no doubt wacky! For the moment though, thoughts should be focused on the next Rugby World Cup 2011, New Zealand, which isn't too far around the corner now."
