England Crowned Dubai Sevens 2010 Winners
04 Dec 2010 -
England have been crowned Dubai Rugby Sevens 2010 winners after beating IRB Sevens World Series 2009/10 champions Samoa.
England beat Samoa 29-21 in the thrilling Dubai Sevens final, which is the first of eight worldwide legs of the IRB Sevens World Series 2010/11. Earlier in the day, England also won matches against rugby giants New Zealand and Australia.
Gullivers' Gareth Chlicott hosted our supporters tours in Dubai over the weekend and was joined by England Sevens' captain Ben Gollings at Gullivers' exclusive welcome party.
Said Gareth Chilcott: "Apart from the obvious advantages of getting away from the cold snap in the UK, Dubai was fantastic this year. Good weather, fantastic standard of rugby and as always Dubai is a great place to visit. The icing on the cake must be England's victory in the final against Samoa. A hugely partisan crowd egged England on to make a final worthy of the two best sides of the tournament. England's youngsters came up trumps to give everyone a feel good factor – a great weekend."
Gulivers organises tours to the popular Dubai, USA and Hong Kong legs of the IRB Sevens Series, as well as tailor-made travel to all the other destinations on the international Sevens calendar - visit our IRB Sevens Woirld Series page to find out more.
