Cheltenham College's rugby team

19 Aug 2010 -

Cheltenham College's rugby team are keeping friends and family updated on their South America rugby tour, using the power of Twitter and have set up a dedicated tour page with the micro blogging site.

Cheltenham College began their pre-season tour, which was organised by Gullivers Sports Travel, on 16 August and spend 18 days touring Argentina and Uruguay. They play five matches, with plenty of sightseeing trips organised too, including a day at the magnificent Iguazu Falls, a city tour of colourful Buenos Aires and an estancia visit, to see a working Argentinian ranch, go horse riding and sample some local food.

Gullivers' Worldwide Sports Tours & Festivals General Manager Neil Rayer said: "This is a fantastic way for parents and the rest of the school to follow the progress of the rugby team in South America and it's something I can see catching on with other school and club sports tours. We at Gullivers are certainly enjoying the tweets so far, after working with the school to put their tour together and now see it come to life, and we look forward to more live updates!"
