Age Groups
Under 9s-Under 14s

Rules

1. The Festival is played under the current English Mini and Junior Continuum.
2. All referees are qualified and appointed by Notts, Lincs & Derby Referees Society.
3. Touch judges are to be provided by participating teams.
4. Duration of games:
   Under 9-12
   Seven minutes each way with a squad of 15 players at under 9s and under 10s and a squad of 20 players at under 11s and under 12s.
   Under 13 & Under 14
   Twelve minutes each way with a squad of 23 players.
   Please note match duration is subject to change without prior notice.
   
   

Unfortunately due to the status and popularity of this Festival the squad sizes must be strictly adhered to and cannot be increased under any circumstances.

POOL GAMES

Under 9-Under 12s
Maximum of 16 teams in each age group split into two pools of eight. Each team plays the other seven teams in their pool. Depending on pool position, teams are then divided into Semi Finals:

Under 13 & Under 14
Maximum of 14 teams in each age group split into two pools of seven. Each team plays the other six teams in their pool.

THE FINALS
Teams qualifying for Finals Day then play at Twickenham on 29 May as a ‘curtain-raiser’ to the Guinness Premiership Final.

In the event of adverse weather conditions, the Finals may be transferred to an alternative date or venue.

All boys/girls qualifying for the Finals receive a commemorative trophy on the day.
