Bishop Challoner's Football Tour to Chicago

Following on from their successful Gaelic football tour to New York and Boston in 2007, Bishop Challoner embarked on an under 15s football tour to America's windy city - Chicago.

The summer tour was arranged in conjunction MLS Team Chicago Fire and the players experienced some top class coaching clinics with them - the teachers picked up some valuable tips as well! Bishop Challoner played two evenly contested fixtures against Chicago Fire and FX United, who were fantastic hosts.

Away from the football field the group packed out the itinerary with some fantastic excursions including The Hancock Observatory, a guided tour of Soldier Field, home of the Chicago Bears and a trip to Six Flags Themepark. They also witnessed England Saxons rugby team lifting the trophy on the finals day of the Churchill Cup.

More highlights of the trip were watching the baseball team Chicago White Sox in action and the bike tour of the city - a novel way of seeing all the sights of Chicago.
