Caribbean Trip Onboard Club Med 2
Club Med 2 2009
Gullivers Incentives was asked by one of their regular clients, Kleeneze Ltd. to provide an incentive trip with a meeting element in March 2009 for 160 of their top distributors to the ‘Ultimate Destination’.
The key requirements were an aspirational destination suitable for 20 to 60 year olds, exclusivity, opportunities to network and the ability to depart from a variety of regional UK airports.
We offered four proposals but the one chosen was a full ship charter in the Caribbean onboard the sailing ship Club Med 2, departing from Martinique. Club Med’s all inclusive meals and drinks facility made budgeting simple and the ship’s marina gave participants an opportunity to try a variety of watersports they had not experienced before.
Flights were booked with Air France who fly from several UK airports to Paris with good connections to its two daily flights to Martinique.
The trip was an outstanding success in every respect and the exceptional service from Gullivers Incentives, Club Med 2 and Air France was highly appreciated by our client and all of the participants.
A full ship charter allowed us to create our own programme on board. Instead of the traditional shows each evening, we created events in which everyone could participate including a ‘Kleeneze’s Got Talent’ contest in the Britain’s Got Talent TV show format, and a Pirate Party - distributors had to improvise their costume and compete in a series of pirate themed games utilising the public areas of the ship.
There was also a Carnival Party with colourful costumes provided by Club Med 2, a Captain’s Cocktail Reception and on the final evening, a champagne reception followed by a ‘Black and White Banquet’.
One couple onboard asked if they could renew their wedding vows during the cruise and we were able to arrange this for them on Virgin Gorda, one of the prettiest of the British Virgin Islands. This was surely the first time that a wedding ceremony was organised by mobile phone from a ship in the middle of the Caribbean Sea! It was a wonderful and moving occasion and another example of the lengths Gullivers Incentives will go to, to ensure the success of their events.
